Write once, read anywhere

Your page in your language, and in theirs.

Type it in the language you think in. Whoever opens your page sees it in the language their phone is set to.

More will come. If yours is missing, tell us and we will tell you honestly whether it is close or far off.

One thing to be clear about. Your page can be written and served in all 8 from the first day. The editor itself starts in English and Hindi, and the other 6 follow as the translations land.

How it actually works

  1. You write in one language

Type it in. Whatever you use at home is fine.
  2. We translate the page, not your name

Your business name, your prices, your phone number and your address stay exactly as you wrote them. Only the sentences change.
  3. The visitor gets their language automatically

We read the language their phone is set to and serve that version. There is a switcher on the page if they want a different one.

Where machine translation gets it wrong

It is a machine, so it will sometimes pick a stiff word or miss a local one. Two things to know.

  • You can edit any translation. Open the language you want, change the line, save it. Your edit belongs to that version of the page, so it stays exactly as you left it and nothing we do rewrites it.
  • Publishing a new version starts that version's translations fresh. Your old edits stay on the old version rather than being carried over, so after a republish it is worth reading back the lines you had fixed by hand.
  • We do not touch numbers, names or addresses. Prices, phone numbers, your shop name and your street stay untranslated on purpose, because those are the parts that break things when they change.

If a translation reads badly to you, it reads badly to your customer. Fix it once and it stays fixed on the version you fixed it on.

Write it in your language.

Write what you do in your own words, and see the page come back in them.
